Hello, friend, and welcome to The Holmestead Grace!
I’m Lisa Holmes, and I’m so glad you stopped by. I live in beautiful, snowy New Hampshire with my husband, Matt. We have grown children and granddaughters who fill our hearts with joy.
I am still very much a beginner homesteader, learning one faithful step at a time what it means to live close to the land. Our hobby farm is home to goats, chickens, ducks, and pigs, plus gardens that teach me something new every season. I’m still learning about gardening and animal husbandry, and some days the lesson is simply humility, like the day a hen hid all her eggs and I had to follow her to find her secret nest!
I’ll own it with a smile: I’m a bit of a conspiracy theorist. I like to ask questions and do my own research rather than just take someone’s word for it.
But there is one thing I settled long ago. I believe Jesus is God. He died on the cross and rose again to redeem humanity and bring us back into relationship with God. Everything I write and share grows out of that good news.
That’s why I write homesteading devotionals for women who love home and Jesus: Refresh My Soul, From a Quiet Homestead, Life Blooms, and From Seed to First Fruits. My goal is to write one for each season. Over on my YouTube channel, The Holmestead Grace, you’ll find the everyday side of farm life: egg hunts, gossiping ducks, goats, and plenty of laughs.
However you found your way here, I hope you’ll pour a cup of coffee, stay a while, and grow along with me.
With love and grace,
Lisa
